How to have a video go viral in 10 easy steps

A video we took last November went viral. As in, tens of millions of views kind of viral. As in Ellen (THE Ellen) and People Magazine thought it was cute enough to share kind of viral. Some people questioned whether we set it all up in hopes of it going viral and the answer is a resounding no. Now that we’ve achieved viral status, though, we can tell you the formula for making it happen in your life:

  1. Travel out of state to visit family
  2. Have it just so happen that your cousin has a gorgeous baby a few weeks prior
  3. Find a 1 pound kitten on the side of the road
  4. Set up makeshift newborn session in the kitchen
  5. Place cousin’s baby on blanket
  6. Look over and see new tiny kitten sleeping peacefully in the living room
  7. Decide to put the kitten next to the baby for a picture and listen to all of the nearby adults squeal at the cuteness
  8. Comment on how the kitten happens to match the blanket
  9. Decide at the last second to take a video and post it to your facebook page
  10. Watch the magic happen

Follow these simple instructions and you too can have a video go viral!

In all seriousness, it was really quite fun and exciting to see our work travel across the globe. Of course the internet is full of crazies so we had to ignore a few Negative Nancies, but all in all it was a wonderful, memorable way to close out 2017!

In case you’re wondering, YES we do love to photograph furry siblings with newborns. If you have a pet, they are always welcome at your session with Hello Little.
